2008 Yosemite Writers Conference

Many Voices Many Visions

Thanks to everyone who made the 2007 conference the success that it was. Due to rising costs and a low number of early registrations, the 2008 conference has been canceled. Refunds will be mailed to those who registered early. Central California Writers, the nonprofit that sponsors the conference, is still holding the annual contest and still partnering with KVPR, Valley Public Radio, on an exciting new project. Please check this site for updates.

  • Did you miss a workshop or want a recording of one you attended? You can purchase CDs of one or all of the 2007 conference workshops by clicking on this link.
  • Novels sold: Congratulations to Albert Borris, who met Andrea Brown at the conference and signed with her agency. His young adult novel, THE THIRD TRY, sold to Simon & Schuster and will be out in 2009. Congratulations also to Christine Son, whose novel, OFF THE MENU, will be published by NAL this year. Christine met her agent Anne Hawkins at the 2005 Yosemite Writers Conference.

"The Yosemite Writers Conference is the best I've seen. You'll find a terrific selection of publishers, agents and writers from which to learn. The conference participants are bright, serious and ambitious. All this, taking place in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, makes the Yosemite Writers Conference a dazzling boost to writers of all levels."

-- T. Jefferson Parker

"The Yosemite Writers Conference is terrific! A hard-working and talented group of writers, varied and invariably interesting presenters, and a beautiful setting -- who could ask for more? I recommend this conference to anyone serious about writing, learning, stretching -- and having a good time."
